Leea Tagalog Talyantan 🪴

Leea Tagalog Talyantan is a beautiful perennial plant with some cool stems that become more or less woody as it grows, the plant is usually gathered from the wild for local use as medicine. It is often grown as an ornamental, growing well in a tub.
It’s used in the treatment of tapeworms, roots are antipyretic & diaphoretic which used in the treatment of stomach-ache, rheumatism & arthritis, the ground-up root, mixed with arsenic, is applied externally as a poultice against yaws, leaves are applied externally as a poultice for wounds, fruits are eaten as a remedy against yaws & dysentery, leaves contain an abundance of of phenolic constituents such as flavonoids, leucoanthocyanidins, p-hydroxybenzoic acid, gallic acid & syringic acid.
