Ficus microcarpa is also known as Chinese banyan, Malayan banyan, Indian laurel, curtain fig, or gajumaru which is a tree in the fig family of Moraceae.
It’s native to China in a range from through tropical Asia & the Caroline Islands to Australia.
It’s considered as a good luck plant with its small rounded leaf which is known to bestow good luck. According to Feng Shui, the plant is the epitome of good luck & favourable positive energy & hence, can be placed in the house or your office.
It symbolises growth & regeneration, the shape of the leaves bear a clear resemblance to jade stones.

In my mother tongue (Bengali) it is called 'Batgacha'/বটগাছ. It can grow very big and tall. It is also an auspicious tree in my culture.
