Chinese Black Bat flower - Tacca Chantrieri

The plant I want to tell you today is "Chinese Black Bat flower". Growing in tropical regions of Southeast Asia, including Thailand, Malaysia, and southern China, this plant is unknown to many. It got this name because it resembles the shape of a bat. They need high humidity and a lot of water. It is a heat-loving plant species, called Tacca in Latin.

It has played a role in traditional Chinese medicine as an herbal remedy for various health problems. It is said that the plant has good anti-inflammatory properties due to the steroidal components in the tuberous roots and is therefore good for the treatment of burns, stomach ulcers, stomach aches and cut wounds.
