A View of Bar Harbor
This is a view from atop Bar Island, looking south towards the town of Bar Harbor. Bar Harbor is a small tourist town located on the northern edge of Acadia National Park in the State of Maine. Bar Harbor experiences significant tidal changes as are common in northernmost latitudes around the globe. During the low tide a bar emerges connecting the town of Bar Harbor to Bar Island. For a period of approximately 3 hours this bar remains exposed by the receding tide allowing tourist passage to and from Bar Island.
This bar is the namesake for the town of Bar Harbor. There are numerous fun adventures to be had in the Bar Harbor/Acadia National Park area, and this should be a must visit destination for any adventure seeking nature enthusiast.

Don't forget you only have three hours and then the tide covers up the gravel bar. I remember hearing about a newlywed couple getting stuck out there until the next tide change.
