A few kilometers from the City of Coro is La Vela de Coro, its port, which through the El Muaco dock allows trade between the State of Falcón and the neighboring Netherlands Antilles: Aruba, Curaçao and Bonaire. La Vela is virtually linked to the state capital, not only because of its proximity, but also because of its history and its city-port relationship.

La Vela de Coro beach is very wide and its waves are soft. Its waters are somewhat opaque, but the presence of multiple fishing boats gives the beach a special color.
