The Lost River

Bonjour Nature Lovers
This is Tolon River, or "was" a river. It is located in the Tolon district in my country. Just a few years back, this river was full of life; its water was clear, women used to fetch for household activities, children played near there, it was our main source of clean water when ever drought season came. It was surrounded by many shady trees that made sure the water never dried out. Everybody was happy to visit there.
Now, this is all that is left of it. Its water has turned milky, the amount of water in it has reduced drastically, only few trees stand around its shores because majority has been cut for charcoal and firewood by selfish villagers. Hence, its water easily dries out during hot seasons. The water is no longer safe to use because it has been heavily infected and contaminated by animal and human wastes. My friends and I have brought together a group of nature lovers to prevent its deterioration. In few years to come, we hope to bring this river back to how we knew it to be, so our next generation can appreciate nature too.
