AZADIRACHTA INDICA-NEEM PLANT

The Azadirachta Indica, popularly known as the neem plant, is a perennial plant found almost all over the world. It is a common plant in most parts of Africa, especially where I come from; Ghana. It is a highly revered tree in my community mainly because of its numerous uses/benefits.
The plant has been known to be an important part in the lives of my people and our ancestors. We cultivate it for many useful purposes including medicinal uses, shades during hot seasons, territorial markings, protection against strong winds, and many more. We also use it's dried and fallen off branches for firewood.

It's fruits and seeds are also used for the production of Neem oil. Neem oil is the most common type of oil used in every household in my community.
The leaves and barks of the neem serve as medicinal purposes for most kinds of illnesses among my people. Boiling and/or soaking the leaves and peeled branches in water makes it a magic potion that serves as a remedy to countless ailments. It heals illnesses such as malaria, fever, epilepsy, hypertension, diabetes, and a lot more.
