Welcome to Steem's new Popular STEM community!

It's been a few days since the community launched, and I'm thrilled to see that we already have 14 subscribers (including my "alt" account, @remlaps-lite), so I wanted to post a message to say "Thank you for joining!", welcome everyone, and post on a few short topics.
So, first and foremost:
Thank you for Joining!!!
I hope we can collaborate and build this into a great new start for STEM devotees on this social blockchain.
Here are the other main points for this post:
- Please feel free to create a post (here in the community) to introduce yourself to the other community members.
- Let me know if you'd like me to add a particular interest, discipline, or other label to your account's title within the community.
- As a Steem Community Moderator during the month of May, I'll be actively watching this community for STEM-related content.
- Please invite other STEM enthusiasts to join us here.
- I'll also be sharing STEM posts that catch my attention to my Facebook page, Science and Technology on the Social Blockchains. Please consider liking it and sharing the content so we can attract more people to our blockchain home.
To elaborate
As a nascent community, I thought it would be good for us all to start getting to know who the members are and where our interests lie, so please feel free to create a post in the community introducing yourself and telling us what sorts of STEM topics interest you. Also, if you'd like me to add a special interest area or other label to your community title, please let me know. I'll be happy to do so. (The character limit seems to be about 32)
Additionally, as to my selection as one of Steemit's community curators, starting on May 1, you can bet I'll be keeping my eye on this community! My application is here. In short, I'll be looking to curate posts that relate to STEM or Classical-Music (Please feel welcome to join that community, too!). The published guidelines ask me to focus on content that is not published elsewhere, so you can use the #steemexclusive tag to help me (and other community moderators) find your content that is unique to the Steem blockchain.
Finally, in order to grow the community on and off Steem, I'm also asking people to invite STEM enthusiasts who are on Steem to join this community and to "Like" my Facebook Page and share the content over there so that we can create some off-chain visibility for the Steem blockchain.
In conclusion
I think that's it for now. Thanks again to all the subscribers for joining the community. Now let's grow it into something great!
Thank you for your time and attention.
As a general rule, I up-vote comments that demonstrate "proof of reading".
