The distortions of space-time.

Saying force or energy to gravity is not very correct because gravity is a natural phenomenon by which objects and fields of matter with mass are attracted to each other, for Einstein who defined it in his theory of general relativity. as a gravitational interaction which would be the most acceptable definition today.

This can change, according to Einstein's theory, gravity can be understood as a distortion of objects in space-time, so it is not really a force or an energy but a distortion of space-time, although we have learned to extract energy thanks to gravity, for example, jumps or power plants that take advantage of the difference in level caused by the rise of the sea during the tides, which is a phenomenon that occurs thanks to the gravity of the moon and the sun.

The earth is surrounded by its gravitational field and in theory this reaches infinity, although luckily it decreases with distance. Isaac Newton was the one who calculated that the attraction of gravity decreases with the square of the distance reached at a point at In space, the Earth's gravity is so weak that it is overcome by that of other planets or the sun, but its action is much greater than it seems.

A curiosity: the astronauts in both the international and Chinese space stations do not float, it seems like it, but in reality weightlessness is not real, they are not floating, what they do is fall, they are literally in a kind of free fall that never reaches culminate, they are orbiting, for example, if we built a tower up to 400 km high, which is where the space stations are more or less located, and we went up to it to put a little light so that the satellites and space stations do not crash into it and If we were to stand on that tower, we would feel a gravitational attraction only a little less than what we would feel if the Earth's surface were less than 10%, that is, if you weigh 80 kg on top of that Tower you would weigh about 72 kg. 10% less 8 kg less more or less.

The gravitational attraction of the Earth reaches far and allows it to be tied to the moon, which is 384,400 km away. Some experts define it better as a failed free fall, because you never fall, the orbit is a failed free fall. I mentioned in a simplified way the idea that Einstein had of gravity, but there are other theories and here things get interesting because according to quantum gravity, the graviton should exist, which is a hypothetical elementary particle of bosonic type that would be the transmitter of the gravitational interaction. , unfortunately has not yet been found, but telling it would be a very interesting step to understand and control gravity.

To imagine that we could control gravity as we control magnetism, it would be amazing to be able to have gravity at our service, for the moment we can draw energy from it, but to imagine that we could disconnect gravity in the matter that we wanted, here it would imply many things that we surely do not know, like the collapse of that particle called the graviton to form black holes or wormholes.

"WOW, what an amazing post about the distortions of space-time! 🚀👽 I loved learning more about gravity and how it warps space-time according to Einstein's theory. The visuals you used were simply stunning! 💥 The fact that astronauts on the International Space Station aren't really floating, but rather in a state of free fall, is mind-blowing. And who knows, maybe one day we'll be able to control gravity like magnetism - what an incredible thought! 😮
