Scientific Curiosity; Terraform Mars

Elon Musk proposed at the time using hydrogen bombs to melt the polar caps of Mars and the objective in this case would be to make the Martian atmosphere denser and thus allow liquid water to exist on the surface.

It will not be a breathable atmosphere because on Mars there is a lot of CO2 and very little oxygen, (with great luck and the balance of Mars allows it) but at least you could see liquid water on the surface of Mars and you could walk around Mars without needing a pressurized space suit and if not too much warmth because the temperatures on Mars, although they are lower than on Earth, are not too low either.

At the equator of Mars in summer it can reach 20 degrees and the atmosphere is quite light. If the average on Earth is around 15 degrees, on average the entire planet, adding all the temperatures on the planet would be about 15. degrees Celsius on average on Mars would be about 12 or 13 on average, I think that was the calculation if it had an atmosphere as dense as the one on Earth, but it was a proposal by Elon Musk, in addition, many atomic bombs would be needed and there were doubts about whether there really was enough ice in the polar caps to cause this atmospheric effect.

I imagine that like many Elon and the scriptwriters of “Desafío Total” knew something, melting ice on Mars is not new, it is one of the futuristic projects they have for Mars and thus have a dense and non-breathable atmosphere, because you could make it breathable with the passage of time with other proposals including cultivation, specifically with algae, but at least one could have a dense atmosphere, where other variables could be detonated to promote life.
