Flux capacitation in progress...lightpainting with a camera rotation device

Tonight's stormy visit to Chee Tor in the Derbyshire Peak District with @fadetoblack and a lightpainting shot in my head which gradually evolved into this:

Flux-capacitation-in-progress-rfs.jpg

For this shot, Tim stood in front of a gelled Godox flash whilst holding an LED light stick. I fired the flash then rotated approx 120 degrees, stopped and fired the flash again. Then repeated for a third time to make a three way rotation. I then replaced the lens cap for the next step without ending the exposure.

Tim then changed position and waved another light stick around consistently while I rotated the camera on it's lens axis also at the same consistent rotation. Almost like a waltz timing, 123 123 123 etc.

It took a few attempts but I think we nailed it. It's collaborations like this which yield unexpected results which spawn more ideas yet again.

About me: I usually specialise in shooting lightpainting images but occasionally dabble in urbex and artistic model photography. I'm always on the lookout for someone to collaborate with; please don't hesitate to get in touch if you'd like to create art.

Oh look here. Interesting result. I just want to let U know. If a flux compensator is connected to a camera in the right way, you get a usable time-to-nothing converter and that means endless time to Lightpaint. 😜

Thanks mate, I was trying to get back to 1985 with all the knowledge I have now! That could be fun....
