Here I was, thinking the lantern we have in Nigeria was made by us.. I’m shocked to also see the replica at your window. I never thought of seeing it across the shores of Africa. It means our country was importing it as well.

But it’s now outdated over here. The recent generation don’t know what a lantern is..

Imagínate. Creo que ustedes progresan más que nosotros. Acá en Venezuela seguimos detenidos en el tiempo. De hecho, todavía hay muchos apagones, y estas linternas son de gran utilidad.

We do have power outage. In fact, our country is notorious for that… just that, we know longer use kerosene lamps because we’ve a lot of adulterated kerosene that has caused a lot of fire accidents. So, people have moved to torchlight. Lantern know longer exist again.

Ah, ok, entiendo. Gracias por abrir mis ojos hacia otros mundos.

I wonder why you are shocked. How many inventerss you have? Most cultures met foreigners and with them ideas, habits, products.

As a former #wewrite student your average comment is disappointing ☹️
