India is a country of strong heritage and culture. It has different cosmopolitan cities and villages. But the common fastivals of dipawali which are celebrated throughout the country and believer of different faiths also participate in it to be held on Tue, 29 Oct, 2024 – Sun, 3 Nov, 2024 for five days.

One such festival is Dewali considered to be most famous fastival of India. It is a festival of lights.

According to Epic story of Ramayan when Eldest son of Dasaratha, Ram returned home after fourteen years of exile he was welcome by decoration of Empire with colourful lights. There were huge trumpet sound made to make devil power aware that nightmare King Rama has returned to Empire.

It also coincided with many Hindu mythological events such as Birth of Laxmi the godess of Wealth, the Pandavas come back , lord Krishna's victory over Narakasura and Goddess Kali's triumph against Raktabija.

All these symbolises both figuratively and literary victory over evil, power of divinity and prosperity. In weakening the world we live in couldn't use a little bit of positivity.

The festival of lights is one of the brightest and biggest event that one billion people celebrated world wide three months ago in 2023 (12th November in India).

Every house light up with diyas or decorated with miniature lights.

Many people decorate their house with rangoli patterns with yellow marigold flowers.

Crackers and fireworks are common spectacular fireworks illuminating sky as sparkles dazzle on the ground. Ofcourse there are contradictory in noise and air polution. Most precious condition happened to the pets, street dogs and cats. I don't know how the animals in zoo manage to survive that night.

It is a day about coming together when people exchange gifts among friends and relatives.

Sweet is one of the most favourite delicacies exchanged among all. I also not aware about the culture of offering platter of dry fruits to clients before I received a tray of pistachio, almond, Kasu nut and Walnuts from Tata Steel officially.

I would like to invite three fellow Steemians to participate in the contest. @viajarparasanar @tayyaba1997 @eveetim

@impersonal What a wonderful post capturing the essence of Diwali in India! Your vivid description of the Festival of Lights its mythological significance and the joyous celebrations truly brings the cultural richness to life. The images of beautifully lit homes rangoli patterns and the exchange of gifts add a personal touch. It's heartening to see the acknowledgment of environmental concerns during festivities.

Thank you so much for visiting my post and remembering my participation in the photo contest candles. Wish your success in the dynamics.

Hello friend @impersonal, all the traditions in the world have been maintained by its people who inherit them from generation to generation.

I imagine the Dewali festivities as you tell it with the sky illuminated with fireworks and the houses with many candles and lights at their entrances.

Greetings and success.

Thank you for visiting my post and understanding it in right spirit.

@sualeha thanks for supporting. It really means a lot to me.

Hello @impersonal, I hope you are doing well.

You have shared a popular festival of India that is Diwali. Its interesting to learn about the facts and traditions behind this festival. It is the celebration of victory over evil and the celebration of prosperity.

During this festival, people light up diyas, decorate home with rangoli, and exchange gifts and sweets. It is really a good festival because it brings people together.

However, the worry part is fireworks that can scare the animals. And if they are carried out in place where there are no animals or birds that it will make this festival more perfect.

Overall you have described the festival very well and I learned new facts about Diwali. Thank you for sharing it. I wish you best of luck for the contest :)

Thank you for visiting my post and supportive comment.

My Pleasure. Stay Blessed :)
