Life is a lesson

Indeed life is a lesson and full of emotions. Everyday we have people who come into our lives and events play out and they leave leaving a valuable lesson which will we never forget in a hurry.

Many things have happened around me and to my loved ones and even my friends and just like the tortoise said, something does not need to happen to me before I learn, as it’s happening to the people around me, I learn from their experiences too.

Let me tell you a brief story of one of my good friends who had a girl he wanted to marry. He loved this girl so much that he would literally do anything to make her happy.

Sometimes he wouldn’t have enough money but he doesn’t mind going hungry just to take care of her. He buys things for her and even helped her to start a business. He would not hesitate to show her love in any way possible.

They have been together for six years. Whenever he tells her that he wants to start making plans for them to be together as man and wife, she would always tell him to wait. She doesn’t reciprocate his love and do you know that for these six years, she never gave him a single gift not even on his birthdays.

He was the one doing all the loving. He called me one day and was crying. I asked him what happened and he said his heart was broken and he was in pains. He said he has been crying for days. He finally told me that the girl called him one day and told him that she’s not interested in the relationship anymore that he should move on with his life.

He didn’t do anything wrong. Three days before the girl called him, he said he was having the feeling that she would leave him and he called her and told her but she assured him that she believes in him and would stand by him only to call him three days later that she was done with the relationship.

My friend was heart broken cos he really loved her. He begged and even asked some of his friends to talk to the girl, her reply was that she was just pitying him and helping him out emotionally. Can you imagine?

I encouraged my friend to take heart and trust God for a better woman. Presently he called me and was so happy. He said after the heart break, he prayed to God to send him another woman who would love him and not treat him like the former and God answered his prayers.

The new girl is so much in love with him, treats him with so much respect and even buys gifts for him. She is everything the former girl wasn’t. In his own words, he said he has never seen this kind of love in his entire life. That the girl wants to injure him with love. Hahaha. In fact he said he was glad that the first girl left him. He would have suffered if he had married her.

Isn’t that beautiful. We all deserve to love and be loved. I was so happy for him. In the end I learn that some disappointments are blessings in disguise and God answers prayers.
