List of violators

Hello steemians!

Today I want to share with you an overview of the platform participants who do not hesitate to use other people's photos to their advantage. We regularly run photography contests in the Xpilar community. Unfortunately, we often come across dishonest participants. Unfortunately, this week we again identified several violators, dishonest participants of the platform.

Foul play is most common in contests. The participant is looking for a beautiful photo on the Internet and, using the confidence of the organizer, posts it for participation. Some thieves try to hide the traces of the crime. They edit the photo in graphic editors, apply mirror transformations and cut out part of the photo in order to complicate the search for the stolen image.

I want to start my review with @guruchudy who was caught foul play several times. Let me give you an example. Here is a post for the @axeman contest. Post link

We would like to hope that the participant did this either through misunderstanding or ignorance. But other posts of @guruchudy inspire suspicion. :-(

Let's take a look at another post
we have suspicions that this photo was also stolen, but the search has not yielded anything yet. Our request about authorship @guruchudy left unanswered!

We would like to hope that the participants did this either through misunderstanding or ignorance. But we are suspicious of their other posts. We noticed that both violators are trying to hide the fact of using other people's photos. They remove captions from drawings, change photographs in graphic editors. Identifying perpetrators is becoming increasingly difficult. Sometimes we have clear suspicions, but we cannot prove anything.

What do you think about this?

Hi @mister-omortson, in fact, it is not easy to block these kind of stolen images. Maybe, when the participants see the other professional photos, they can feel inadequate about their photos because of low photo quality. I don't know how do you evaluate them. It can be more fair if there are two concepts as professional and amateur.
Also, I wanna say sth about determination of stolen images. Yandex is the best option about reverse image search for investigation. It is more effective than Google and Bing.
Thank you for asking our opinions 😊

Yes, that's the true about professional and amateur.
But you can see in my contest the winners with smartphone photos
Main point is something original and interesting!

Then, nice to know that your rating system works inclusive for every single participant's photo quality 🙂

Что скажешь, это просто безобразие, неужели трудно сделать пару фотографий самому.

@mister-omortson am very sorry for this, it was out of ignorance.
Thanks for letting me know
