I WANT TO BLOW!!!
That word "Blow" a very known word in the mouth of music minded individuals.
Usually refer to "becoming "POPULAR" and INFLUENTIAL" in the music industry.
Had a meet up with an intending student to discuss modalities for studentship.
In the course of the discourse I had to ask him his musical history and background.
he started narrating his history and then talked about that word "Blow."
Telling me how he left his church due to the fact that his church doesn't help him personally in his music.
how he isn't in a church Currently, and how he doesn't see the importance of his current church for his musical career.
He then brought examples of some big names in the Gospel industry currently, who left their Churches for another and now "they have BLOW!!!" That word again right?😂
After he was done I had to ask him what aspect of music he wants to major in, he said "Gospel"
I had to bring to his notice that being rooted in a LOCAL CHURCH helps your growth not just musically as a BRAND, but also as a BELIEVER.
The lyrics you would be singing should come from a place of in-depth knowedge of God's word to your listeners and a GOOD local church helps build that in you.
Also had to correct the impression about Gospel artistes who left their current churches and became popular, advising that
"The fact that they left their former Churches doesn't mean the same has to apply for you too" I said.
We know that some Churches tends to really focus alot on their singers, helping their brand, but that shouldn't be the reason you want to go to a particular church because you want to BLOW! and be HEARD!
Also brought to his notice renowned Gospel artistes who did not leave their current Churches when they were not popular and now still in the same church they are now known all over the world.
SEE!!!
Growth is personal and until you have decided to leave the level you currently were in and take ACTION!
NOTHING WOULD CHANGE!!!.
Don't wait for Church to take you personal before You take yourself personal.
Make those moves!!!
Work!!
Network!!
Pray!!
And be Intentional about your GROWTH.
