Are you a son of God?

Our neighbors have a tough time believing that God can have a child. They argue that God has no companion and can not have children.
Glory to God we know better. And it's not as if we figured it out on our own. Nope. Non of us is that smart. We simply believe because God Himself said so. And I would be stupid not to believe that. After all it's on my favour.

Imagine having handed a package that guarantees your entry through the pearly gates of heaven. With all the splendor of heaven to enjoy with the Lord. Oh, and did I mention going to heaven as a son? Not as a guest anyway.

Sounds sweet, right?

And that is exactly the biblical promise found in John 1:12,13.

NIV: 12: Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—

13:children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.

Every legitimate son is entitled to his father's properties. That is exactly what every true believer stands to inherit. Heaven. The dwelling place of our heavenly Father.

This for sure is a reliable promise. It's a promise I can believe, any time, any day. And it's surprisingly simple. What does God require from us? Believe and receive. That's it. And just like that you are a SON of God!

The Bible stressed further in verse thirteen that- children not born of human decision. Humans may promise and fail. We are limited by so many factors and circumstances around us. But He who made this promise is reliable. Yes, we can be sons and daughters of the most high.

So brethren let's reach out and lay hold of God's unfailing promise. He's Ever faithful Ever sure. Do you believe it? Have you received it?
