THE PECULIAR YOU

Text: “What is man, that thou shouldest magnify him? And thou shouldest set thine heart upon him? And that thou shouldest visit him every morning, and try him every moment?” Job 7:17-18

Man is the highest of God’s creations because he’s the one in whom God could fully express Himself. This is the reason Jesus came as a man, in human flesh, and why you were born; that’s why God created you to express Himself in you, in his fullness without supplanting your personality. This is so wonderful; though God chose to express himself in you and through you, the things that are peculiar to your identity are preserved. In other words you are still you, but God expresses all of himself in that peculiar person called you. he expresses himself in His fullness in your peculiar character.

God created you so He could manifest His beauty, holiness, grace, glory and excellence through you: “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people, that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light” (1 Peter2:9).

As a new creation in Christ Jesus, you’re peculiar; you are the first fruits; that means the first and the best of God’s creations: “Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures” (James 1:18). You’re the crowning beauty and the highest of everything God made. You’re even higher than the angels.
One major way in which the peculiarity in our lives is expressed is in the uniqueness of God’s purpose for our lives. God made each one of us in a peculiar way to function in a peculiar way to become relevant in this life. God’s peculiarity in our lives is expressed as the Spirit of God is allowed to work in us and through us. I want to encourage you not to settle for the norm; reach out for the best that God has packed in your life.

CONFESSION:
I am peculiar in every way. God made me so unique and different. I’m relevant to my world.
