Proverbs 22:9 - Generosity Brings Blessings

He that has pity on the poor shall himself be maintained; for he has given of his own bread to the poor. He that gives liberally secures victory an honour; but he takes away the life of them that posses them.

If you can take a closer look at Proverbs chapter 22 from verse 8 to 10, and take a bible study you will understand verse 9 better which talks more about the appreciation of a generous soul and a good name it makes for itself by giving to the poor.
