Walking By Faith (Part 1)

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Hebrews 11:3

There are many fruits that we must bear as Christians. These include love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness. faith, meekness and temperance. These fruits give people a definition of who we are, what we stand for, what we accept, and so on. However, the basis of our Christian belief is faith.

Faith is the essence of our followership and discipleship with Christ, it is the currency with which we access divine treasures, the map with which we navigate the kingdom of God. Faith is the key that unlocks kingdom principles and mysteries of the kingdom, and it is anchor that holds our ship in the midst of raging storms. Faith is the foundation upon which our works and hopes are built.

Every wise servant or student wants to do the will of his master or teacher, so as to be able to learn and be led the right way to do things. Likewise, every wise son does all it takes to please his father (or parents), so as to reap the benefits of the resources of that parent, and eventually get an inheritance. As believers therefore, our faith is the only thing that pleases God, because in God's sight, every service or offering that is rendered without faith is just a waste.

...and everything that is not from faith is sin. - Romans 14:23b

Faith is not a religious practice, but a personal evidence of dependence and confidence in God, in His words, and hope in His promises. Faith is a lifestyle of total submission to God, irrespective of the rationality of His instructions, or the height of His promises, when perceived by the human mind.
