La vida está hecha de deseos. Los malos deseos llevan al mal, los buenos llevan al bien. Pero son los deseos, buenos y malos, los que mueven al mundo. El criminal, el delincuente, desea el mal para otros para procurarse un bien para sí. Pero, al final, el mal lo alcanza porque fue objeto de su deseo.

El bueno desea el bien para sí y para otros, y al final, aunque pueda sufrir mucho en el camino como consecuencia de su actitud ingenua, obtiene el bien para sí y para otros. Cada cual pues obtiene al fin lo que desea; esto es, cosecha según lo que siembra (Gal 6:7). Mucha gente del mundo siente un rechazo instintivo por el bueno, porque su actitud los acusa y porque es un excéntrico que va contra la corriente.

En cambio, los niños y los humildes se sienten atraídos por el bueno. El avaro está a gusto en la compañía de avaros, el criminal en la de criminales, a menos que sean rivales. (“Los pájaros de un mismo plumaje se juntan”, dice un refrán inglés) Pero el que no es como ellos desentona. Nada hay nada más odioso para un grupo de borrachos que la presencia de uno que no toma. No lo dejarán tranquilo hasta que se emborrache como ellos.

Después de haberle hecho la guerra largo tiempo, el mundo premia al bueno cuando los resultados de su acción son demasiado visibles para ignorarlos, y como una manera de apaciguar su conciencia.

Tal vez lo hace en parte porque ve en esa acción un reflejo de los buenos deseos que también esconde su alma y quiere premiar en otros lo que él no tuvo el coraje de realizar. Porque no hay ser humano en quien no haya una chispa de bien. Sabemos que algunos criminales tienen un fuerte sentimiento de familia y hacen grandes sacrificios por ella. El premio mayor que cosecha el bueno es la paz “que sobrepasa todo entendimiento” (Flp 4:7). En cambio, la recompensa del malo es la inquietud que no lo deja descansar en ninguna cama, según es la experiencia de muchos criminales. Por algo dice el proverbio “El impío huye sin que nadie lo persiga” (Pr 28:1).

Si rechazamos los malos deseos no sucumbiremos al pecado, pensemos pues en todo lo bueno, tengamos cuidado con lo que pensamos, a lo que le damos vuelta en nuestra mente, si lo malo queda de lado florecerá lo bueno que hay en nosotros.

Oremos de esta forma:

“Padre, ilumina mi interior para identificar todo mal deseo que tengo o me pueda surgir. Te pido perdón si he tenido alguno de estos malos deseos, límpiame y lávame ahora. Caminaré desde ahora, libre de malos deseos en el nombre de Jesús. Amén”

8 For the rest, brothers, everything that is true, everything honest, everything just, everything pure, everything lovable, everything that is of good name; if there is any virtue, if anything worthy of praise, think of this.

Life is made of wishes. Bad desires lead to evil, good desires lead to good. But it is desires, good and bad, that move the world. The criminal, the delinquent, wishes evil for others in order to procure good for himself. But, in the end, the evil reaches him because it was the object of his desire.

The good man desires good for himself and for others, and in the end, although he may suffer a lot along the way as a result of his naive attitude, he obtains good for himself and for others. Each one then finally gets what he wants; that is, you reap according to what you sow (Gal 6: 7). Many people in the world feel an instinctive rejection of the good, because their attitude accuses them and because he is an eccentric who goes against the current.

Instead, children and the humble are drawn to the good. The miser is at ease in the company of misers, the criminal in that of criminals, unless they are rivals. ("The birds of the same plumage come together", says an English saying) But the one that is not like them is out of tune. There is nothing more hateful to a group of drunkards than the presence of one who does not drink. They won't leave you alone until you get drunk like them.

After having waged war on him for a long time, the world rewards the good when the results of his action are too visible to ignore, and as a way to appease his conscience.

Perhaps he does so in part because he sees in that action a reflection of the good wishes that his soul also hides and wants to reward others for what he did not have the courage to do. Because there is no human being in whom there is not a spark of good. We know that some criminals have a strong sense of family and make great sacrifices for it.

The greatest reward that the good reaps is peace "that passes all understanding" (Phil 4: 7). Instead, the reward of the bad is the restlessness that does not let him rest in any bed, as is the experience of many criminals. The proverb says “The wicked flee without being pursued” (Pr 28: 1).

If we reject bad desires we will not succumb to sin, let us think about all that is good, let us be careful what we think about, what we turn around in our mind, if the bad is left aside, the good that is in us will flourish.

Let us pray in this way:

“Father, enlighten me inside to identify every bad desire that I have or that may arise in me. I apologize if I have had any of these bad wishes, cleanse me and wash me now. I will walk from now on, free from bad desires in the name of Jesus. Amen"
