HOLINESS: HEAVENS PASSPORT
There is a need to make some sacrifices if you would have any rewards. In this light of this, the same rule applies to holiness. The Lord has a certain reward for everybody who is living holy. For instance, if you live holy, you would live long. It is two sides to a coin, sin leads to death while holiness leads to life eternal. You will die early if you are partaking in sin.
However, if you are living holy, the devil will find it difficult to get you into his death snare. The word of God lets us know that if you plant holiness, you will harvest the mercy of God. What do we know about the Lord's mercy? Lamentations 3:22 says It is because of the mercies of the Lord's that we are not consumed He will keep on showing us more mercy if we keep living holy.
Peace is another important gift of holy living. Philippians 4:4-9 gives us an idea of what holiness entails, and it results in perfect peace. Holiness has to do with rejoicing in the Lord rather than complaining, living a life of modesty, avoiding anxiety and covetousness, being truthful, integrity, clean, loving, and virtuous.
The question isn't what peace is but rather who Peace is. The Lord Jesus is the Prince of Peace and the first thing to do to be holy is surrendering your life to Christ. The Almighty calls us to holiness and requires that we live a holy life through the help of His Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. The call to holiness is really the call to peace and when the Lord calls you to live a holy life, He is definitely calling you into peace.
Why has the Lord called us into peace? It is because our God is a God of peace. Just like a father would give to his children whatever he has, the Almighty God is always ready to give us peace. The enemy on the other hand can only give evil things of this world. The Lord Jesus is the King of kings and His Kingdom is everlasting and for you to partake in His rewards, however, you must enter into His Kingdom. To enter in His Kingdom, you must be holy as He is. The people who live holy on earth will be the Lord in Heaven forever.
