HOW GOD PUT ELIJAH THROUGH FAMINE USING A POOR ZAREPHATH WOMAN.

There are arose famine in the of Israel as a result disobedience to the commandments of Jehovah. Elijah the prophet of God was not spared.

Ref. 1 Kings 17

And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the Lord God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word. 1Kings 17:1

Elijah's place of birth was Tishbite located in the territory of Manasseh.

Ahab was the king of Israel during the time of this fermine occasioned by his sins. Let's see what he did.

29 And in the thirty and eighth year of Asa king of Judah began Ahab the son of Omri to reign over Israel: and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty and two years.

And Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the Lord above all that were before him.
And it came to pass, as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took to wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Zidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshipped him.
And he reared up an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he had built in Samaria.

And Ahab made a grove; and Ahab did more to provoke the Lord God of Israel to anger than all the kings of Israel that were before him. 1 Kings 16:29-33_

Firstly, Ahab got married to Jezebel a Zionian which forbid the children of Israel. Jezebel brought to the throne of Israel the Holy people of Jehovah all the idols worshipped in her native land thereby causing Israel to sin against their God.

The sin of idolatry activates the anger of Jehovah more than any other.

"Thou shall not have any other God beside me. "
Ahab and Jezebel his wife not only caused Israel
to not only served Baal but they worshipped him".

THE CONSEWUENCIES OF AHAB 'S SIN 1.

"There shall be no Dew nor Rain". 1 Kings 17:1

Absence of no dew and rain in the land affects water for drinking and for crops which led to fermine. Inadvertently there was hunger in the entire land of Israel as a result of one man sin that became a national sin.

ELIJAH AND A POOR ZAREPHATH WOMAN.

1 Kings 17: 8-16 (KJV)

_And the word of the Lord came unto him, saying,
Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.
So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.
And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.
And she said, As the Lord thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.
And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.
For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the Lord sendeth rain upon the earth.
And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days.
And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the Lord, which he spake by Elijah

WHY DID GOD CHOSE TO FEED ELIJAH THROUGH THIS POOR WIDOW.

Sometimes God chooses nothing to make out something. Making somebodies through nobodies.

Do not look down on people.

We are now living in a world where rich men and becoming poorer than the poor. National and international economies are crumbling. Hunger everywhere. Killing and blood spilagging are no more seen as a crime.
