BEWARE OF HEARING SOME NEW THINGS.

There are those who take delight in hearing new things at the expense of the Word of God they are already conversant with. It may be said in a new way, it could be channeled through a new medium; but, it must come with the configuration of the truth that you already know.
Imagine the Athenians and strangers in Acts 17:21 who spent their time in nothing else, but either telling or hearing some new thing! There are some today who gallivant from one place to the other, gasping for new revelations. Some are looking for new prophecies even as false prophets abound. When one rejects the love of God and his true word, and begins to look for what gives credence to what he chooses to believe in, what he likes that is not the true word of God, he falls into wicked deception.
Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false. 2 Thessalonians 2:11
God is the same God today as He was yesterday, He has not changed. He is the Ancient of days and His Word remains the same forever. What He forbade for Moses and Elijah, He still forbids for men today.
Be very careful of the new things you release your ears to hearing. If they don’t conform to the truth of God’s Word which you have in the Bible, you have God’s permission to discard them. Beware also of some brilliant ideas that do not agree with the word of God. Colossians 2:8 Paul warns,

See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception [pseudo-intellectual babble, according to the tradition [and musings] of mere men, following the elementary principles of this world, rather than following [the truth—the teachings of] Christ. (AMP)
It doesn’t matter the person or group propounding them; the foundation of God’s word stands sure. Apostle Paul in his letter to the saints in Galatia; wrote, warning them against new revelations – “But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed” Galatians 1:8-9.
We are living in an era when you cannot afford to play loose; you just have to be watchful! Jesus told His disciples – “What I say unto you I say unto all, watch” Mark 13:37.
You just have to be watchful! One is right today does not mean he will be right tomorrow; but, the Word of God is right all the time. No wonder, Paul told the Galatians that anyone including himself coming up with a different gospel should be accursed. It is good to release yourself to the mentor-ship of men; but, it shouldn’t be blind mentor-ship. Your eyes should be fixed on the provisions and allowances of God’s Word.
