Be Hospitable

Good day family. There is one thing I want us to understand today which is Hospitality. The English dictionary defines Hospitality as the act of welcoming guests, receiving them, hosting, or entertaining guest who could also be strangers.

It happened in Genesis chapter seventeen verses twenty three downwards how God appeared to Abraham as he sat in the tent door because of heat and while sitting, he looked and saw three men beside him and when he saw them, he ran to meet them and bowed to them. Here first of all is a sign of respect Abraham had even with his age. A lot of us today are so spoilt that we di not know how to respect people talkess of strangers. Abraham did something amazing, he said to those men...

18:3-5 And said, My LORD, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant: Let a little water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree: And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts; after that ye shall pass on: for therefore are ye come to your servant. And they said, So do, as thou hast said.

Wow did you see that? Abraham hasn't met these people before but still had so much compassion and hospitable mind. Abraham then went to meet Sarah to make ready food available for them and he even took of his animals to kill. What do you think Abraham saw? Why was he doing all these? Was he expecting something in return or was he just doing it as a good and gentleman? We will see what happened in the next lesson. Stay tuned.

Thanks so much for reading...
Till I come your way next time...
