Know Who You Are.
Matthew 16:17-19 (NIV)
Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven.
And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
God's original plan was for man to be in charge of everything and not satan. Adam gave authority to the devil when he stepped outside the will of God by listening to the devil and this is what he tried to do with Jesus when he tempted Him after 40 days and nights fasting.
The devil is useless without man. The devil cannot achieve anything without the help of man and that's why the devil corrupts everything that belongs to man to make us fall to the point where God would not be pleased with us.
God's intention was to make man a god on earth, to make us rule but we have given the authority to the devil by our sins but we need to be restored to God's original plan and take our authority back. It takes intelligence for Adam to name all the animals without prior understanding and knowledge and that's what God planned for us; to make us gods on earth.
God had done what He wanted to do for us and what we make out of life is our responsibility. Whatever happens in our environment is largely because we allowed it. When the purpose of a thing is not known abuse is inevitable so it is shameful to go through life without knowing what truly belongs to us and what we have that God has already given to us. We don't have a God problem but knowledge problem - because we don't know what we have and how much God has invested in us.
Jesus came to show us what our lives should be like; how we are expected to live. Jesus turned water into wine, rebuked the wind and did amazing works that defy human sense and that's how capable God made us already but we are not living in it.
Jesus already made salvation available to the sinners in that, regardless of how deep your sins are, they have all been paid for and Jesus also gave authority to every believer.
As a believer, we have that authority in God through Jesus Christ. Satan understands we have authority over him and that's why he allows us to live in fear. It's like seeing a police man or a military personnel, we don't respect them because of their size but because of the authority the government has given to them. The police man understands his authority and that's why he uses it.
The value of authority is determined by the person who gave that authority. God has given us authority as believers and the value of it is determined by God. There is no believer on earth without authority no matter how little that believer is. We need to stop running up and down when we already have that authority in us to be and do and reject anything. We can determine the outcomes in our lives when we understand that we have authority in God. We need to exercise our authority that God has given us.
Authority over satan is a spiritual blessing. We have to believe that God has given it to us through Christ and we need to live in it. A police man doesn't need to pray before he stops a car because there is an authority backing him up and the same thing we should do as believers because we are not praying or asking in our name. The authority came from God so it is not about us but about God. We need to be strong in the knowledge of God. It has nothing to do with us or our power because the authority came from God.
