THE REASON BEHIND WATER BAPTISM

Many people do not know the purpose of water baptism, some due to lack of understanding have baptized many times as they change from one church to the other. It is the practical identification of the repentant sinner in the death that paid the price for his sin, and the resurrection that justified him. By the baptism, he is declaring that he had been crucified with Christ.
He being a sinner was to die for his sins, and Christ dying for him means he is dead, that he too rising from the water is to live unto G. it is only those who have genuinely repented and believed in Jesus Christ for their salvation that are qualified to be baptized. Many people have different views about the mode of water baptism.
Some argue that it should be by sprinkling of water upon the person. But the right mode of water baptism is by immersion because the Greek word “Baptizo” from which baptism came means to immerse (to dip inside water). Jesus in His command gave us the formula in Matt. 28:19-20; that is, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.
Now after publicly identifying with Christ through water baptism, the believer is expected to live a new life. Remember that baptism does not save us from sin; but it is a requirement from those who have believed unto salvation. It does not also cleanse us from sin. It is only the blood of Jesus that can cleanse from sin.

Definitely. Water Baptism, by IMMERSION is a must for every Believer . It is not done in any other form. In addition, it must be done by an adult , who has , by his / her volitions has accepted Jesus as the Lord and Saviour , not on infants who can't exercise their voluntary will.
