Reading the Bible to Know God?

Knowing God is a relational process. The Bible is the inspired Word of God through it He speaks to us. It is a medium or means through which we encounter God on a daily basis, where we get to know Him, hear Him, enjoy Him and even find our purpose and how to fulfil our purpose on Earth.

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16-17

Through it, the Holy Spirit shows us who God actually is. As we come to know Him, we are changed more and more into His likeness. When we open the Bible, we won't hear a voice say to us, 'I God is here, please listen to me!' but instead as we read through each line, the Holy Spirit whispers through them in our innerman.

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12

When we sit to listen or read the Bible, we should do that thoughtfully because we are coming before His Holy Presence. By reading God's word daily, we in true sense encounter the Living Word, Jesus Christ.

"It is the Holy Spirit who enables the text to speak for itself; when the text speaks it is the voice of God the Father that is heard; and it is Jesus Christ who through the text makes a unique claim upon the readers and heaters."
