"Los frutos del Espíritu son perfecciones que forma en nosotros el Espíritu Santo como primicias de la gloria eterna. La tradición de la Iglesia enumera doce: “caridad, gozo, paz, paciencia, longanimidad, bondad, benignidad, mansedumbre, fidelidad, modestia, continencia, castidad (Gálatas 5, 22-23)”.     En esta serie reflexionaremos sobre los frutos del Espíritu, el significado y la importancia de cada uno de ellos dentro de la vida cristiana.

Gozo

    Del lat. gaudĭum, el gozo se define como un sentimiento de complacencia en la posesión, recuerdo o esperanza de bienes o cosas apetecibles. Para los cristianos el gozo es ese sentimiento que deviene de la esperanza que suscita el Resucitado, el Hijo de Dios. Esta alegría o gozo permanece en el creyente, aun en los momentos de dificultad, siendo de desconcierto para aquellos que desconocen la verdad de Cristo. El gozo es un fruto de la comunión con Dios, por tanto se acrecienta en la oración fervorosa y en el cometido de las buenas obras. El que procura estar en comunión con Dios, con Sus preceptos, de seguro experimentará el gozo que sólo puede tener cabida en una conciencia limpia y tranquila. Aquel que verdaderamente lleva a Cristo en su corazón, pinta su rostro de alegría a pesar del mal tiempo, y así se convierte en portador de la alegría que anima y da esperanza al desanimado, al decaído, al deprimido.

    Que el Espíritu Santo se derrame sobre nosotros para que, llenos de Su amor, permanezca en nosotros la alegría rebosante que sólo puede venir del Resucitado, nuestro Señor Jesucristo.

"The fruits of the Spirit are perfections that the Holy Spirit forms in us as the first fruits of eternal glory. Fruits of the Holy Spirit

Gozo

    From lat. gaudĭum, joy is defined as a feeling of satisfaction in the possession, memory or hope of goods or desirable things. For Christians, joy is that feeling that comes from the hope that the Risen One, the Son of God, arouses. This joy or joy remains in the believer, even in moments of difficulty, being of bewilderment for those who do not know the truth of Christ. Joy is a fruit of communion with God, therefore it is increased in fervent prayer and in the commitment of good works. He who seeks to be in communion with God, with his precepts, will surely experience the joy that can only be found in a clear and calm conscience. He who truly carries Christ in his heart, paints his face with joy in spite of bad weather, and thus becomes a bearer of the joy that animates and gives hope to the discouraged, the downcast, the depressed.

    May the Holy Spirit be poured out on us so that, filled with his love, the overflowing joy that can only come from the Risen One, our Lord Jesus Christ, may remain in us.
