"Los frutos del Espíritu son perfecciones que forma en nosotros el Espíritu Santo como primicias de la gloria eterna. La tradición de la Iglesia enumera doce: “caridad, gozo, paz, paciencia, longanimidad, bondad, benignidad, mansedumbre, fidelidad, modestia, continencia, castidad (Gálatas 5, 22-23)”.     En esta serie reflexionaremos sobre los frutos del Espíritu, el significado y la importancia de cada uno de ellos dentro de la vida cristiana.

Fidelidad

    En el diccionario de la Real Academia Española podemos encontrar la siguiente acepción de la palabra fidelidad; Lealtad, observancia de la fe que alguien debe a otra persona. La fidelidad como fruto del Espíritu Santo debe ser entendida principalmente como lealtad a la persona de Cristo; a Sus preceptos y a la fe que se profesa en nombre de Él; el cristiano con un corazón fiel a Cristo siempre será capaz de defender su fe, sin temor y sin vergüenza, creyendo, con firmeza y seguridad, en la Verdad del Evangelio. En la Biblia se pueden encontrar diversos personajes que dieron muestra de fidelidad a Dios, entre ellos podemos tomar el caso del apóstol Pablo que, a pesar de las difíciles pruebas que tuvo que atravesar a lo largo de su ministerio, perseveró hasta el final guardando la fe (2 Timoteo 4, 7). La fidelidad demanda coherencia, se debe ser constante en la observancia y en el cumplimiento de las verdades espirituales y los principios morales expuestos en las Sagradas Escrituras. Orar fervorosamente, leer de manera asidua la Biblia y compartir la Palabra de Dios con otros, son signos visibles del fruto de la fidelidad.

    Que el Espíritu Santo nos colme de sabiduría para entender que la fidelidad a Dios, siempre es el camino correcto.

Fidelity

    In the dictionary of the real Academia Española we can find the next meaning of the word Fidelity; Loyalty, observance of faith that someone owes someone else. Fidelity as a result of the Holy Spirit must be understood mainly as loyalty to the person of Christ; to the precepts of him and the faith that is professed on behalf of him; The Christian with a faithful heart to Christ will always be able to defend the faith of him, without fear and without shame, believing, firmly and security, in the truth of the Gospel. In the Bible you can find various characters that showed fidelity to God, among them we can take the case of the apostle Paul who, despite the difficult evidence he had to cross throughout his ministry, persevered until the end keeping the Fe (2 Timothy 4, 7). Fidelity demands coherence, it must be constant in the observance and compliance of spiritual truths and the moral principles exposed in the Sacred Scriptures. Pray fervently, read in assiduously the Bible and share the Word of God with others, are visible signs of the fruit of fidelity.
