"Los frutos del Espíritu son perfecciones que forma en nosotros el Espíritu Santo como primicias de la gloria eterna. La tradición de la Iglesia enumera doce: “caridad, gozo, paz, paciencia, longanimidad, bondad, benignidad, mansedumbre, fidelidad, modestia, continencia, castidad (Gálatas 5, 22-23)”.     En esta serie reflexionaremos sobre los frutos del Espíritu, el significado y la importancia de cada uno de ellos dentro de la vida cristiana.

Benignidad

    Del lat. benignĭtas, -ātis, la benignidad refiere la cualidad de ser benigno, es decir, afable, piadoso, apacible, benévolo. El creyente que verdaderamente es lleno del Espíritu Santo, dará el fruto de la benignidad en abundancia, este será visible cuando trate a los demás siempre con dulzura, cuando al momento de defender un punto vista o sus creencias lo haga afablemente. La benignidad que viene del Espíritu no se cancela en la prueba sino que florece en medio de ella como una disposición constante del alma hacia la apacibilidad y el perdón.

    Que por la gracia de Dios, el Espíritu Santo se derrame en nuestro ser para que seamos capaces de dar el fruto de la benignidad, aun en momentos de dificultad.

"The fruits of the Spirit are perfections that the Holy Spirit forms in us as the first fruits of eternal glory. Fruits of the Holy Spirit

Kindness

    From lat. benignĭtas, -ātis, benignity refers to the quality of being benign, that is, affable, pious, gentle, benevolent. The believer who is truly filled with the Holy Spirit, will bear the fruit of kindness in abundance, this will be visible when he treats others always with sweetness, when when defending a point of view or his beliefs he does so amiably. The kindness that comes from the Spirit is not canceled in the trial but flourishes in the midst of it as a constant disposition of the soul toward mildness and forgiveness.

    May the Holy Spirit be poured into our being by God's grace so that we are able to bear the fruit of kindness, even in times of difficulty.
