La oración es el poder que mueve la mano que gobierna al mundo. Quienquiera que viene ante Dios orando con sinceridad, fe y perseverancia toca el brazo de Aquél a quien todas las cosas le son posibles. Hay montañas de dificultades por todas partes, mas por medio del poder de Dios son movidas por la oración de fe (Mateo 17.20–21). En las cámaras secretas del corazón, donde nadie podrá impedir que nos acerquemos a Dios en oración, hay grandes fortalezas que el diablo no podrá destruir, porque “para Dios todo es posible”.
La oración frecuente y ferviente pertenece a la vida cristiana
¿Ha notado usted cuántas veces se encuentran en la Biblia frases como éstas: “Orad sin cesar”, “Velad y orar”, “Orad por nosotros”? La oración es el aliento del cristiano. Cuanto más profunda sea nuestra vida espiritual, tanto más respiraremos. ¿Cómo una persona que profesa tener una fe viva en Dios puede vivir sin pasarse mucho tiempo en oración y aun así afirma que se preocupa por la causa de Cristo y el bienestar del hombre? He aquí sólo unas pocas cosas de las muchas que se pueden recordar en las oraciones diarias: su propia familia, los enfermos en su comunidad, sus pastores, las pruebas y tentaciones que usted y otros enfrentan.
Orar con fe
“Pida con fe, no dudando nada” (Santiago 1.6). “Y todo lo que pidiereis en oración, creyendo, lo recibiréis” (Mateo 21.22). Otra vez la promesa es segura sobre la condición de que la oración sea con fe, “creyendo”. “Es necesario que el que se acerca a Dios crea que le hay, y que es galardonador de los que le buscan” (Hebreos 11.6). Muchas oraciones son en vano porque se ofrecen sin fe en el poder de Dios.

Frequent and fervent prayer belongs to the Christian life
Have you noticed how many times phrases like these are found in the Bible: “Pray without ceasing”, “Watch and pray”, “Pray for us”? Prayer is the breath of the Christian. The deeper our spiritual life, the more we will breathe. How can a person who professes to have a living faith in God live without spending much time in prayer and yet claim that he cares for the cause of Christ and the welfare of man? Here are just a few of the many things that can be remembered in daily prayers: your own family, the sick in your community, your pastors, the trials and temptations you and others face.
Pray with faith
“Ask in faith, doubting nothing” (James 1.6). "And whatever you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive" (Matthew 21.22). Again the promise is sure on the condition that the prayer be in faith, "believing." "He who comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him" (Hebrews 11.6). Many prayers are in vain because they are offered without faith in the power of God.
