Golden Rule

God's plan is for people with different characters to unite with each other. At the same time, each family member must have a sacred attitude towards the opinions of others and respect their rights.

Such behavior will promote mutual courtesy and restraint, partisan views will be softened, and rude character traits will be softened. An agreement will be reached and a combination of different characters can be an advantage for the family.

The Bible contains many important rules that affect social and family relationships. This is not only the best and purest example of morality, but also the most valuable courtesy code.

The golden rule: "As you want people to do to you, you also do to them" (Luke 6:31), as well as the apostolic mandate: "By humble wisdom, read each other as your superior being" (Phil 2: 3) must become the law of the family.

The golden rule is the beginning of true courtesy, which is fully embodied in the life and character of Jesus. Christ was courteous even to his persecutors. All true kindness and love in the world, even among those who did not know his name, emanate from Him.

The best etiquette treatise of all that has been written is the precious instruction given by the Savior and uttered by the Holy Spirit through the Apostle Paul, words that must forever be recorded in the memory of all people, young and old:

"How he loved us. that they love one another ”(John 13:34).

"Love is suffered, merciful, Love does not envy, love is not exalted. Not proud, not scandalous, does not seek his own, does not bother, does not think badly. He does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth, everything covers, everything is covered, all hope, supports everything, love never stops. (1 Cor. 13: 4-8).

Love lights up the face and softens the voice; cleanses and exalts the whole person. Love brings us into harmony with God.

True courtesy cannot be learned simply by following the rules of etiquette. True courtesy does not require sacrificing principles for the sake of conventionality. She ignores the breed. It teaches a person to respect himself, to respect human dignity in other people, to recognize each member of the great brotherhood of people.

The most careful observance of external rules is not enough to eliminate any irritability and harshness in trials.

We must stop taking into account our egoism as the main objective. Love must live in the heart. The gospel does not promote formal courtesy, but one that is born of true goodness of heart.

Of all that people strive for and value, nothing is as important in God's eyes as a pure heart, a thankful spirit, and peace of mind.
