Steadfast in faith

Resist him, firm in faith, knowing that the same sufferings are being fulfilled in your brothers throughout the world. 10 But the God of all grace, who called us to his eternal glory in Jesus Christ, after you have suffered a little while, he himself perfect, affirm, strengthen and establish you. 1 Peter 5: 9-10 King James Version (KJV)

It seems that standing firm in the Lord is a great weakness of the human race. Man is always prone to rambling thoughts, giving up, forgetting, accommodating or falling asleep if possible.

Forgetting is somewhat easier. The apostle Peter himself, who wrote the opening verse in this message, warns us that we must be very careful to stay alert, because the persecutions of the Christian people will increase in every place and in every part of the world.

There can be no place for spiritual numbness, one must continue the race facing the obstacles that appear. It is necessary to believe that after so many struggles, trials and adversities, the Lord will take charge of strengthening us and establishing us firmly on the rock that is Christ.

Problems require firm faith that God will help us solve them. It is not about leading a comfortable life without problems, on the contrary, it is about strengthening our faith every time we face problems. Problems are part of life and our faith in Christ is the important part of finding his support to solve them.

Since man sinned we have problems in the world and since Christ gave his life for humanity, we have faith to believe that the life of Christ is in us to overcome adversity.

There is no doubt that we have a measure of faith that God has given us, which we must develop and trust that God is the one in charge of testing it and making it robust in us.

Let us keep our faith firm by trusting that God gives us the strength to establish and develop it in the midst of any situation or problem.
