In Venezuela, every third Sunday in July, “Children's Day” is celebrated. All this in order to celebrate and ratify the rights of all boys and girls.

What is the origin of this celebration in Venezuela?

Venezuela celebrates Children's Day since the Law Approving the Convention on the Rights of the Child was promulgated, it was on August 29, 1990. The objective of this law is to provide social and legal protection to children and teenagers. It is necessary to remember that they are the most vulnerable group and those who suffer the most from social problems.

It is important to remember that during the celebration of "Children's Day in Venezuela" the little ones receive toys and spend the day with their family in parks, restaurants and cultural spaces. However, due to the pandemic, some activities are strictly under biosecurity measures.

In the Bible we can find a very interesting passage, in which the Lord Jesus Christ exhorts the disciples to respect the right that children have to approach Jesus as the giver of life and who guarantees children the kingdom of heaven, of which the Lord says belongs to children.

But Jesus said: Let the children come to me, and do not stop them; because of such is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 19: 14

Children have the right to happiness and recreation. Jesus opens his arms so that children come to him and enjoy the true joy that the celebration of “Children's Day” can bring.
