THE JOY OF BEING IN THE RIGHT WAY.

Being in the way is not necessarily being in the way you have carved out for yourself. Being in the way is being on the path carved out by God for your life. Abraham had become old and well stricken in age and he sent his eldest servant – Eliezer to go unto his (Abraham’s) country and his kindred to get a wife for his son Isaac. Eliezer was actually made to swear that he wasn’t going to go into any other land other than that specified by his master for this assignment. Eliezer set out in obedience to the pledge he made unto his master. He had a carved out path, he had a destination and in his inclination not to step aside from the determined path; he had this sweet testimony of God’s faithfulness: “I being in the way, the LORD led me”.

The joy of being in the way is the assurance that you will not miss God, as you stay in the way He has mapped out for you. don’t seek to do your own, never you seek to go your own way, it is hard being alone without God . I would rather be with the Lord in the midst of the sea in a great storm, than live in a mansion with great fortune and fame and not have the Lord or His backing. The Bible enjoins us to trust in the Lord with all our heart and not to lean unto our own understanding. We are to acknowledge Him in all our ways and trust Him to direct our path. It doesn’t matter what you find in the way earmarked for you by God, you will certainly not go under. God gives help in the middle of the way: “Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright for the end of that man is peace.” (Psalm 37:37).

Peter sought to step out of the ship to meet Jesus Who he saw walking on the sea and the Lord told him – “Come” (Matt. 14:29). By stepping out of the ship to walk on the sea to meet the Master, he was “in the way”, because; it was a move informed by the command of the Master. It was not a self will kind of a thing. As he moved, fear suddenly gripped him in and he began to sink; but he found the joy of being “in the way”, because the Lord moved swiftly to lift him up. If Peter being “in the way” could attempt to sink; what do you think will happen when you set out to do your own, at the expense of God’s carved out path for your life?
