Christ is the truth, the way and the life The Lord Jesus said "I am the way, and the truth, and the life", to understand these words, we must first be clear that only God can express the truth, give life to people and show them the way. Before the Lord Jesus said that He Himself was the truth, no one had said that He Himself was the truth, and no one could express the truth. Only the Lord Jesus incarnate said that He was the truth and, moreover, could express the truth. As recorded in the Scriptures, “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us. full of grace and truth” (John 1:14).
The Lord Jesus was God incarnate, that is, the Spirit of God dressed in flesh as the Son of man to do His work among humans. In His outward appearance He was like an ordinary human being, but He was Christ incarnate and God Himself and possessed a divine essence. This is how the Lord Jesus was able to express the character of God and what God has and is, and was able to express the truth and accomplish the work of saving mankind according to their needs. No one else is capable of doing the work of saving mankind.
This shows that only Christ can give man the truth, the way, and the life, and that the Lord Jesus is the same God who can give people the truth, the way, and the life. However, many people at that time only saw the ordinary and common appearance of the Lord Jesus, but they did not know that the Lord Jesus was the incarnate Christ, and that He was God Himself. Then the Lord Jesus said: “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). The Lord Jesus was making His own identity known to the people of that time, so that they could know that He was Christ, that He was God Himself, and that He could grant them the truth, the way, and the life.
