Man is a spirit, he has a soul and a body, dreams occur when man sleeps, God is a spirit, and he communicates in the spirirt
Hebrews 12:9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Why do God communicate in dreams
To answer prayer;1 Samuel 28:15 And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me up? And Saul answered, I am sore distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and God is departed from me, and answereth me no more, neither by prophets, nor by dreams: therefore I have called thee, that thou mayest make known unto me what I shall do. We see here saul said God dont answer him anymore, thru dreams, this is to show us that dreams a also powerful...its a way in which God answers prayer.
To give correction; Genesis 20:3 But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said to him, Behold, thou art but a dead man, for the woman which thou hast taken; for she is a man's wife. Here also, God spoke(warns) abimelech through dreams, so its also a means of correction
To give direction; Matthew 2:13 And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him. Here, we see God appeared to joseph through his dreams and gave him direction to where he will hide his child so as for herod not to destroy him
To know the future; In the book of Genesis 40 vs 16 to 23, the chief butler had a powerful dream in which joseph interpretated it for him, and the dream came to pass. The power in DREAM.
In conclusion
Dreams are so powerful, in the sense that it affect\afflicts man physically. There is power in dreams, do not joke with dreams its a way God communicates with his people. Thank you
