What is repentance, is it necessary for our lives?
Repentance always leads us, to leave behind everything that corrupts the soul and completely seek God.

Acts 3:19
"Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out; that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,"
The New Testament term, which defines repentance, means a change of mind, as a result of which a person's views, goals, and lifestyle change with a complete reevaluation of the entire past.
This change is completely radical and is manifested in the internal and external appearance of man; mind and judgment, will and feelings, behavior and lifestyle, motivation and goals, all of this changes. Repent means starting a whole new life.
The call to repentance was the most important and fundamental theme in the sermons of
- John the Baptist (Matthew 3: 2),
- Jesus (Matthew 4:17),
- the twelve apostles (Mark 6:12),
- Peter on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:38)
- Paul: the apostle of the Gentiles (Acts 17:30; 26:20)
- and in the conversion of the glorified Christ to five of the seven churches of Asia Minor (Revelation 2: 5, 16, 22; 3: 3, 19).
The theme of repentance was an essential element of the gospel that Jesus commanded to bring to the world,
Luke 24:47
and that repentance and forgiveness of sins must be preached in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.
This verse refers to repentance as the way to forgiveness of sins and return to God's favor.
Repentance is the fruit of faith. However, in real life, repentance is inseparable from faith and represents the negative aspect of turning to Christ as Lord and Savior.
The idea that there can be saving faith without repentance and can be justified only by believing in Christ the Savior, without recognizing him as Lord, is a destructive seduction.
True faith recognizes Christ precisely as Who He really is: our King, whom God Himself has anointed, and our high priest given by God, so that true faith in Him as Savior will find expression also in submission to Him as the Sir.
To reject this is to seek justification by faith without repentance, and this is no longer true faith.
The sinner, who sees and recognizes not only the danger, but also the abomination and vileness of his sins, as contrary to the holy nature of God and his just law, trusting in the mercy that God in Christ shows to who repent, weeping for their sins and hating them, he turns to God, setting his goal and striving to walk with him in every way according to his commandments.
