BE ACCOMODATING TO EVERYONE: HOSPITALITY

Hospitality is not limited to giving out material things. It could also be shown through warmth and friendliness to people, a word of encouragement, or just a smile.

1 PETER 4:8-9

Above all, love each other deeply because love covers over a multitude of sins.
Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.

Hospitality is the duty of every Christian and should be part of our way of life. We can’t say we love God and love our neighbor as ourselves when we can’t be hospitable to everyone that comes our way.

We are the eyes of God or better still, Jesus Christ sees the world through our life and should show forth the presence of Him that has called us out of darkness into the marvelous light by seeing that every day we have an encounter with people as an opportunity to show forth the love of God.

We have been embedded with everything we think we need to be hospitable to anyone and everyone that crosses our path. We have what it takes to show hospitable.

Been rude or unaccommodating isn’t the way and life Christ. It does not portray God’s commandment to us and the expectations God has for us towards the people we come across. In as much as the world is turning into a dreading place, we are the ones to make the world a better place.

LUKE 14:12-14

Then Jesus said to his host, “When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers or sisters, your relatives, or your rich neighbors; if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be repaid.
But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind,
and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”

Many have missed their blessings because they were not hospitable as they should be to people. Many only show hospitality to people they know but we are expected to show to all. The widow, the beggar, the little child who asked for a cup of water and the rest.

As a Christian, the Holy Spirit teaches you all truth and helps you to show arms to people who are in need or poor. It is our duty as children of God to show hospitality to whoever comes our way.

MATTHEW 25:42-46

For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink,
I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’
“They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’
“He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’
“Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”
