This life we are living, there's absolutely nothing in our power that we can do to thank God for His mercies. All He wants us to know is that we never deserved any of this and that we should always have a glad heart for what he has done. When we know this, we will always praise him and thank Him with all we have got in us. That's what God requires, our total commitment to him and no other diety.
