Jesus, preaching to the people on the mount, admonished them not to become unduly anxious over what to eat, what to drink and what to wear.
Colossians 3:2
"Set your affections on things above, not on things on the earth".
People are killing people because they want to eat, dress up, build houses and pay other bills. But Jesus recommended the only one thing that is needful in place of all those items which constitute things; be it a wife, husband, children or even a car.
He recommended that what is most needful is to seek first the kingdom of God and its righteousness, (not your righteousness) and all other things shall be added unto you. Whether those things like it or not, God will ensure that they move towards your direction. Amen.
As a wise person, you will desire to seek that singular thing that He is talking about, which is seeking first His kingdom and its righteousness.
God has given to us exceeding great and precious promises; that by these we shall be made partakers of His divine nature, having escaped the world's corruption through lust.
