WHO IS A GOOD LEADER?
2 Samuel 23:3; Proverb 29:2; Joshua 1:6; Micah 3:1-3, Roman's 12:8, 1Peter 5:2
1. A good leader motivates and inspires the people to get engaged with his vision and make delivery of the vision.
2. A good leader is one who knows the way to go and show the way regardless of the situation.
3. A good leader is one who is in charge, the person who convinces other people to follow.
4. A good leader inspires confidence in other people and they follow him and he must possess the following qualities.
- Integrity
- Ability to delegate
- Communication
- Self awareness
- Gratitude
- Selflessness
- Influential
- Empathic
- Sympathetic
- Visionary
The bane of our society and nation today has been that of bad leadership. There since this saying " To be a good leader you must be a good follower."
Probably the cause of our bad goverance structure could be traced to poor followership which in turn may have metamorphosed into bad goverance at all levels of leadership strata, be it public, private, academic, traditional, religious or the family.
The Bible rightly points out that when the righteous people are in authority the people will rejoice, but when the wicked is in power the people will mourn. ( Proverb 29:2)
It is most regrettable to note that a nation that is so endowed with natural and human resources, a nation that is divinely blessed beyond measures, could lack visionary and purposeful leadership.
WE NEED IDEAL LEADERSHIP
Leaders with vision and mission.
Leaders that are called to serve and not to be served. We need a servant leader, a shepherd and not a wolf in sheep's clothing, a leader who is humane, tolerant and kind to the led. Unfortunately, today we see leaders who do not love, fear or believe in God, rather they believe in their fraternities ans forces that put them there.
WHAT WE DO NOT BARGAIN FOR, AS A PEOPLE.
1. Today, we see leaders who are flamboyant, arrogant and careless of the plight of the masses whom they claim to lead.
2. Today, we see leaders who derive joy in seeing workers and pensioners die without receiving their entitlements.
3. Today, we see leaders who talk of equity and justice but do not believe in them.
4 Today, we see leaders who are so greedy, ever ready to loot the nation dry; they receive life pension while in service.
*May God heal this land and her leaders, restore her again in Jesus name. Amen
Lord heal the hearts and minds of our political, traditional, institutional, spiritual and family leaders.
Let them be humble and just.
Let our leaders use our common wealth for the betterment of the people.
Let them have the fear of God
