(1) How do you store/secure your keys? What are the different forms of private keys(examples/Screenshot)? Download and install Tronlink wallet (Android/iOS/Extension)? How do you store the key(Hint -write it down on a notepad, demonstrate it with examples)? Which form of the key are you comfortable with to handle your tronlink wallet? Include screenshots and hide/blur the sensitive information.

Good day steemit academy, and much appreciation to prof @sapwood in this post i will be doing justice to the assignment on Blockchain wallets.

Introduction

We have been using blockchain wallets to store our crypto assets. Different wallets are used by different persons based on choice. Although, there are different wallets in use in the crypto space, wallets have one thing in common which is Security. Each wallets comes with password, which when lost might mar your opportunity of recovering your wallet when lost.

How do you store/secure your keys?

Wallet's security plays a vital role on cryptocurrency blockchain. Wallet keys are just like PIN to our credit cards, and to that effect they are supposed to be kept safe from hackers.

If a user's keys in a decentralized blockchain is lost, the user losses all his assets.

Because, I stand the chance of loosing my assets I learnt ways to save my keys in order not to loose my asset. Below are some of the means of saving my keys.

• Penning it down: to this purpose i bought a jotter where i write down all my wallet keys. This book is kept in the safest place in my house, so i don't need to back any key up online saving me fr online scammers.
• Memorizing: memorizing words, phrases and sentences is something i find less difficult so i cram my key phrases, although i do write it down just to be sure.
• Saving on a Flash Drive: I bought a 8gb flash drive for the sole aim of saving my crypto related stuffs. Keys like steemit keys which can't be memorized is been saved in the flash drive.
  To every key i save in my flash drive i gove the folder to which it is saved a name.

What are the difference forms of private key (examples/screenshot)?

Private keys as the name implies, is a personal key for a user on a blockchain which can be used to both access one's assets and to authenticate transactions on a blockchain.
Private keys can take any of the 3 forms viz;

• Private Key: private key is an alphanumeric key i.e it is comprised of both letter and numbers. Private keys are generated randomly on blockchain using cryptographic function at the moment of creating the account.
  This keys should be kept safe as it can be used to access the wallet asset.

• Keystore File: among the private keys, keystore file is the most complicated.
  Here, the private key is made up of your set password+the keystore file

A keystore file in addition to alphabets and number have special characters, and to that effect someone cannot understand it by looking at it.

• Mnemonic key: mnemonic key is a 12 or 24 phrase given during registration. This 12 or 24 phrases can be used to restore the wallet when lost, reset password, and to generate new wallet addresses. Mnemonic keys are the most widely used because it easy to understand.

As an android user, i will be using google playstore to perform this task.
I will be taking few steps

• Step1: I will open my google playstore app

How do you store the key(Hint - write it down on a notepad, demonstrate it with examples)?

To show how i store my keys, i will open my tronlink wallet.

I will give the wallet a username of my choice

Then i will create a password that i can remember and then back up my mnemonic keys

NB: tronlink app does not permit taking pictures of mnemonics that is why the steps are not complete.

Which form of the key are you comfortable with to handle your Tronlink wallet

I prefer the mnemonic private key to the other form of private key because i can memorize it, as a matter of fact i still have my tron link wallet mnemonics off hand.

Also for the fact that i can easily restore my wallet with my mnemonic key i prefer it.
