Crypto Academy Week 6 Homework Post for @yohan2on || SBD AS STABLECOINS

in SteemitCryptoAcademy3 years ago (edited)

Hello Steemian !!
We go into week 6 of the homework held by one of the professors of the Steemit CryptoAcademy @yohan2on.
This time we will discuss StableCoin, which is a relatively new breakthrough in the cryptocurrency world. The StableCoin which I will discuss this time is Steem Dollars or we are often familiar with SBD.

Steem Dollars (SBD)

Steem Dollars (SBD) was designed by the Steemit developers as a StableCoin which has the same price as US dollars, so the price ratio of SBD to US dollars is 1:1.

The SBD coin is in the same blockchain system as its brother, namely STEEM coin which is the main coin in Steemit. The main purpose of making SBD as StableCoin is to help stabilize the increase and decrease in the price of STEEM which is the main coin on the Steemit blockchain.

When this article was written, the price of SBD has increased by 7.27 US dollars, which means that if we have 1 SBD then we can exchange it for $ 7.27.

Currently, SBD is ranked 479 out of 6508 cryptocurrencies that exist throughout the blockchain in the world. And from this data, it can be concluded that SBD is one of the top 500 Cryptocurrencies that are most requested by everyone.

The total SBD circulation to date is 6,358,033 SBD. This means that there are 6,358,033 SBD that have been traded in all exchanges in the cryptocurrency world today. And this number will always increase over time.

How to Get Steem Dollars (SBD)

There are several ways to get SBD, I will explain them one by one to all of you.

1st Way

The first method is the easiest and most economical way because we don't need any capital to get SBD. The trick is that we only need to make posts on the Steemit platform, if our posts are upvoted by other people then we can get SBD as a reward.

There are a number of things that you must pay attention to so that the reward from your steemit will be in the form of SBD. When you are going to make a post on Steemit, make sure the reward setting for your post is 50% SBD / 50% SP. To set it you can click on the "Advanced Settings" button on the left.

sbd6.png

After that, choose the option "50% SBD / 50% SP" which means you want the rewards that you get from your post are in the form of SBD and SP (Steem Power). If you choose the "Power Up 100%" option then the reward for your post will be Steem Power which will go to your wallet. Meanwhile, if you choose the "Decline Payout" option then you will not get a reward from your post.

sbd5.png

Actually, you don't need to adjust it again for reward matters because indeed the default setting is already on the "50% SBD / 50% SP" option, but I want to explain about rewards in more detail to you so that you can understand better.

2nd Way

The second way is to trade the internal market at Steemit. This method is still very rarely used even by the steemians themselves because there are still many people who don't know that we can directly exchange our STEEM coins for SBD directly on the market that has been provided by Steemit. So on this occasion, I will provide steps to be able to make an exchange between STEEM and SBD on the internal Steemit market.

So that we can carry out this exchange process, we must first log in to steemitwallet.com. Simply by pressing the "Wallet" option on our profile page.

sbd7.png

Then we will be taken to a new page. On that page, we will log in so we can access our wallet.

sbd8.png

In order to access the wallet, we will use the Private Active Key which we have downloaded in the form of a pdf file. Because only these keys can access the wallet from our account.

sbd9.png

After successfully logging in, then we click on the arrow that points to the side of our STEEM coins, then we just have to select the "Market" option.

sbd10.png

Then we will be taken to a market page that looks like the one in the image below.

sbd11.png

So that we can exchange our STEEM coins with SBD, we just have to take the "SELL STEEM" option on the right, then we just have to fill in the price of the STEEM coins that we will exchange and how much STEEM we will exchange with SBD.

For example, as below, I will exchange 0.050 STEEM coins at a price of 0.078514, so I will get 0.003 SBD.

3rd Way

The last way is to exchange our coins on an exchange. Usually, most people on steemit exchange their coins originating from Steemit such as SBD and STEEM on Bittrex. The trick is simple, you just have to send your coins to Bittrex's account in Steemit by entering your Bittrex wallet address on the transfer memo, then your coins will automatically go to Bittrex and can be exchanged immediately. You can see the display of the SBD to BTC exchange on Bittrex in the image below.

How to Transfer SBD on Steemit

To make SBD transfers on steemit, we must first log in to steemitwallet just like when we want to exchange STEEM and SBD on the internal steemit market which I have explained above.

After logging in, we click the down arrow next to our SBD coin amount, then we select the "Transfer" option.

sbd14.png

After that, we enter the name of the account to which we will send our SBD coins (here I will send an example to the Bittrex account).

Then we enter the SBD amount that we will transfer and don't forget to enter our Bittrex wallet address in the memo column.

After all, is done, then we select the "Next" option.

sbd15.png

After that, Steemit will ask for confirmation to send our SBD coins to the destination address, before we send our SBD, it's a good idea to check first, after making sure everything is in order, we just click the "Ok" option so that the transfer process can be carried out immediately.

Conclusion

In my opinion, SBD is a coin that I highly recommend for steemians to have. Due to the fact that prices are always stable and rarely below $1, they can even go up to a very high percentage.
That's all from me, apologize if there is something wrong with my explanation, if you find these deficiencies or errors you can comment in the comments column below.
See you guys in the next post!!
