Hello, fellow Steemit users. Our professor @yousafharoonkhan clearly presented the idea of centralized and decentralized social media and went into detail to explain each one of them. I will now present the homework assignment that I prepared for him.

Q1. Write the definition of Decentralized and Centralized Social Media Platforms in your own words.Explain in your own words the difference between decentralization and centralization Social Media Platforms (answer should related Social Media Platforms . (answer must be written in own words, copy paste or from other source copy will be not accepted)

Nowadays, social media has become a very vital part of our lives. Every day we spend an ample amount of our time navigating through social media. It helps connect millions of people across the globe. People be of any age have their accounts on one or more than one platform of social media. There are two kinds of social media - centralized and decentralized. Now. let's discuss more on that -

Centralized social media - Centralized social media refers to that kind of social media that is governed by a central organization through certain rules and aspects. These organizations have full access to the customer's account and have the authority to remove the account at will. On centralized social media, the freedom of expression is limited to the rules of that platform. Every activity of a user's account is tracked and surveyed in centralized social media and there are often times when people are unaware that even their chats and other activities are being tracked and kept knowledge of. The examples of such platforms are - Facebook, Twitter.

Decentralized social media - Decentralized social media is the kind of social media where users are free to express in whatever way they may wish to without referring to certain norms and regulations. The accounts that people make on such platforms cannot be deleted or terminated by any authority. The user has full access to their account and no one can go through their activity apart from them. On these platforms, the users are also rewarded for the hard work they put into creating their posts in the form of tokens which they can later exchange and convert to their own currency. There is no central authority governing how a person must be using their account and everyone is allowed to portray their talents and socialize. The example for this platform - Steemit.

The Differences between Centralized and Decentralized social media are -

• Centralized social media is governed by a fixed set of rules whereas Decentralized social media has no such mandatory protocols.

• Centralized social media has full access to a user's activity and chats whereas Decentralized social media has no such authority over its users.

• The account created on a Centralized social media platform can be terminated at any time by the authority whereas the account created on a Decentralized social media platform cannot be terminated.

• Centralized social media has no system of rewards for its users whereas Decentralized social media rewards its users through tokens or cryptocurrencies.

Q2. Which One is The Future of Social media ? Decentralized or centralized Social media.(answer must be written in own words)

As per my perception, the future of social media is Decentralized social media. This is because Decentralized social media has a more promising attitude towards its audience, that is, its users. The very important issue of account security is provided on Decentralized social media platforms. The users have every right to their privacy and they are able to operate properly. The users are not bound by any strict rules and are not subjected to display only a particular aspect of information. Whereas on a Centralized social media platform the users are in fear of losing their account if or when they are unable to abide by the rules imposed there and break them. Through, decentralization of social media every user would be at an equal level and they would not be susceptible to exploitation at the hands of a big, powerful user as in the case of Centralized social media platforms. Thus, Decentralized social media platforms will turn out to be a greater deal in the future than Centralized ones.

Q3. How steemit decentralization social media is best than Twitter and Facebook.(answer must be written in own words)

Steemit decentralization social media is better than Twitter and Facebook because the hard work and efforts a person puts into publishing their work on steemit can never go to waste as the user always has their account with them whereas there have been several instances on Twitter and Facebook where a person put in years of hard work to build their account and then suddenly one day their account got terminated and all their work went to waste. Also, while Facebook and Twitter have access to a person's activity and their chats, that is, their privacy, Steemit on the other hand has no such features to infiltrate a person's privacy. Also, Steemit rewards its users by providing them with $STEEM and $SBD for their posts and creativity. The users can claim these rewards after a week and convert these into the currencies of their country and use them for their expenses. Where CEntralized media platforms like Facebook and Twitter have no such concept of rewarding and even if they had then the majority would've been claimed by the big and powerful companies, leaving nothing for the general users. Also, if a person is not well educated and is well versed in certain life skills, then even they can use Steemit for displaying their skills and slowly and gradually learn other stuff from the platform as well.

Q4. What do you say? How do Steemit social media change the lives of millions of its users?(answer must be written in own words)

Steemit social media has changed and impacted the lives of millions of its users in various ways. Steemit has helped its users create an identity of their own through their skills and make a worthwhile contribution to their family's earnings. On Steemit if a user is not very educated but is talented in a certain skill, then they can display this skill on Steemit and earn the rewards that are provided. Steemit has helped people support their families. There are many people who now rely on Stemit as their primary source of income. Also, with no fear of getting their account deleted, people are able to express themselves freely. There have been several examples where people have purchased items and other things that they dreamt of, through the tokens and currencies they earned on Steemit. Steemit has brought people from all over the world on one platform where they can share instances from their lives, their culture, their history, and others can learn about them. Thus, Steemit continues to impact and change lives every day.

Q5. How can we make money with Steemit's decentralized social media.(write your own experience)

Steemit offers various ways through which we can make money. There are several communities in Steemit and each of them adheres to a separate category. There are communities which cater to s respective country, while there are some which cater to a certain skill like giving review or photography. A user can choose their favourite communities and participate in various contests and other events that are organized there to earn rewards.

From my experience, I have found that the Diary Game challenge that is held on Steemit is very helpful for earning money. It's easy to participate in and people get to know each other while sharing how their day went. I have earned a significant amount of money through diary games and I participate daily to earn more. I have also participated in other contests that were organized in different communities and won some of them. When I was a newbie in Steemit, the tasks given by the Newcommer's community really helped me in establishing myself on this platform. I have an interest in Blockchain and cryptocurrency and I have learnt a lot about them by participating in the homework assignments given by the Steemit Crypto Academy. I would recommend others also to participate in these activities in which I did. Earning through Steemit has really helped me a lot and from the money, I earned from this platform I have been able to purchase the things that I like.

Q6. How to create communities on Steemit social media ( practicle step by step ) & Promote your homework post on two social media ,twitter and facebook (just share link in comments area)

Here, is a step by step process on how to create communities on Steemit -

Step 1 - Login to Steemit with your user id and password and then go to the Steemit icon displayed.

Step 2 - Now go to the Explore Communities option displayed at the bottom.

Step 3 - Now you have to select the Create Community option displayed.

Step 4 - A window will open for the community's title and description.

Step 5 - After you have filled in the title and description, click on the Next button. (Keep in mind that the Title and Description are very important for a community so fill them properly.)

Step 6 - After that, save the community password and key which is very important, and click on Create Community.

Step 7 - A window will open asking to pay 3Steem as the cost. Then click Ok.

Step 8 - Another window will open, asking for your id and active key. Once you have filled them click on Sign in.

Your community is now active and ready to be used.

Conclusion

Finally, to conclude my post I would like to say that I learnt a lot about the two different kinds of social media - Centralized and Decentralized. As I worked on this task I came to understand how Decentralized social media is the future of social media. I got to share my won experience of how I earned through Steemit. I even got to learn how Steemit has impacted millions of lives. I even got to know how to create my own community which was very interesting. Lastly, I would like to thank my professor @yousafharoonkhan for providing me with this homework task.
