I continue to participate in homework. Professor @alphafx studied and compared different blockchain platforms and showed us their similarities and differences. He also asks us students to compare two different blockchain platforms.

In this homework I would like to compare and compare Tron and Tezos blockchain platforms and talk about similar aspects.

Tron Blockchain

Tron Blockchain was founded in 2017 by Justin Sun, whom we know well. The Tron foundation managed to raise nearly 70 million funds through its ICO (Initial coin offering) initiative. This money platform was used for development, promotion and various expenses. Tron blockchain is a platform that has proven itself in decentralized applications with its ability to write smart contracts. The fact that the transactions on the network are fast and cheap (almost free) manages to highlight the platform. The Tron network has a very strong infrastructure for decentralized applications. With its high processing capacity and ability in scalability, it is able to stand out from other networks.

I have said that it is a very strong network for decentralized applications. Software developers can create smart contracts in TRC10 and TRC20 format in the Tron network. About 5 months ago, the TRC721 format was adapted to the network and software developers interested in NFT started to work on this issue. In the tron blockchain, just like the steem blockchain, block generation is done on the delegated proof-of-stake principle. Unlike the Steem blockchain, there are 27 witnesses. Celebrities who lock their TRX in the Tron network choose witnesses.

Tezos Blockchain

The Tezos blockchain was developed about 7 years ago by a group of software developers led by Arthur Breitman and Kathleen Breitman. In 2017, they raised approximately $ 232 million in ICO initiative. They used this money to develop the platform, to promote it, and to fund some issues. The coin of the blockchain is XTZ. The Tron network has the ability to build decentralized applications, create smart contracts. It is open source. The biggest difference from other blockchains is that it can develop itself. It does not need a hard fork for change. As with the Tron and Steem blockchain, new coin generation is done through the authorized proof of stake (dPoS) mechanism (Tezos actually has a PoS operating principle. DPoS is one type of PoS). It has the opportunity to shorten the processing time, to quickly verify transactions. XTZ holders democratically participate in governance to the extent of the coin they own. It needs 8,000 Tezos to do this. If he does not have that many Tezos or does not want to govern, he can delegate his coins to others.

Comparing Tron with Tezos. Similarities and Differences

After talking about the Tron and Tezos blockchains, I want to talk about their differences, similarities, price per unit, aggregate supply, and so on.

Coinmarketcap Data

According to Coinmarketcap data, the price of Trx is $ 0.1484 as of now. It has 71,659,657,369 TRX in circulation. Total market capitalization is $ 10,625,659,278. Coinmarketcap ranking is 18th. It is listed on numerous exchanges with about 50 trading pairs.

According to Coinmarketcap data, the price of XTZ per unit is $ 6.56. There are 766,531,857 XTZ in circulation. Its total market value is $ 5,029,764,664. Coinmarketcap rank is 33. It is listed on many exchanges. It is listed with about 150 transaction pairs.

As can be seen from the data and coinmarketcap ranking, Tron's market value is almost twice the market value of Tezos! In addition, TRX is listed on a large number of exchanges according to XTZ. This shows that it is a more valuable project and investors trust TRX more in this regard.

Governance, Working Style

As I mentioned while promoting blockchains, both blockchains use the DPoS protocol. Initially, the Tron network used the PoS protocol. It switched to the DPoS protocol in August 2018. Because DPoS is much more democratic than PoS and more resistant to threats. There are 27 super witnesses in the Tron network. Stakeholders choose witnesses. Witnesses are responsible for the verification and verification of transfers, transactions on the network.

In order for users to be delegates in the Tezos network, their accounts must have at least 8,000 XTZ. Anyone who does not want to be a delegate can pass it on to someone else. Unlike the Tezos network values, it has a self-changing feature. So it doesn't need a hardfork to update the network.

The Tron network is supported by the Tron foundation. The Tezos network is also supported by the Tezos foundation.

The Tron network uses the Solidity programming language, while the Tezos network uses the OCaml programming language.

When I introduced both blockchains, I mentioned that both have the ability to create smart contracts. Both networks are working on decentralized applications, but Tron is much better than its competitor in this regard.

2000 transactions are processed per second in the Tron network. 40 transactions are processed per second in the Tezos network. In the Tron network, 1 block is created in 3 seconds. Super representatives selected by stakeholders earn 32 TRX per block. In Tezos, 1 block is produced in 1 minute. Compared to Tron, they are quite inadequate in this regard.

Tezos has surprisingly raised $ 232 million from the ICO initiative. Hence, a dispute arose between them and the SEC. They managed to appease the SEC with $ 25 million in compensation. Tron, on the other hand, managed to raise 70 million dollars with the ICO initiative. It is said that there may be a disagreement with the SEC. This is just a rumor for now.

Conclusion

While reading the professor's course article, I noticed that I was learning new things. While doing research, I learned different things. I am very confident about what I learned.

In this homework I compared Tron versus Tezos blockchains. Tron appears to be a superior blockchain compared to Tezos in many aspects. Both networks have similar features.
