Hopefully all of you are good. Let's move towards our today home work.
What is Proof-of-brain (PoB) ?
PoB is the collection of all the reward pool(containing 65% of the total amount),the stake weighted mechanism(SteemPower or SP) and the wisdom of people. All these things are gathered to form the PoB.
There is a proper system of reward pool in the Steemit Blockchain like all other Blockchains which is formed by the collection of all content Creators,Curators,Witnesses,Steem DAO and the Vested Token Holders.
Out of the total volume, 65% of the reward pool is contributed among the content creators and the curators.
Stake-weighted Mechanism(SP) is the system of upvote and downvote rewards. If the curator owns more SP then the content will more effected and one will get more curation reward.
There are some questions which are asked by our professor.Let me explain all of answers of these questions one by one in a particular manner.
(1)What will happen if you vote before "5 mins age of a post" & after "6 days 12 hrs age of post" in Steem Blockchain?
First of all it is compulsary to us to be well-awared about the 'life/age of the post'.
Steem Blockchain contribute the rewards of the post after 7 days of its publishing . It means that the past payout of the post appers after 7 days of its posting.During these 7 days the post is upvoted or downvoted. The recieved amount is then distributed among the post creators and the curators in an order of 50%/50%.
There is a period known as Reverse Auction. This is a short period begins just from the posting of the post upto 5 mins. During this period a linear discount is applied of the total curation reward.
So, if we vote a post within the first 5 minutes then it will cause negative impect upon our curation reward. We could lose a certain percantage of the curation reward during this period.So a linear discount from 0 min to 5mins is applied(i.e. 100% linear discount at 0mins and 0% linear discount at 5 mins.)
Similarly , if we voted a post after 6 days and 12 hours of its posting then we will also recieve a decrese in the curation reward. It will be decreased 0% at 6days and 12hours and 100% decrease at the 7 days age of the post(7days of the publishing of the post.)
Point: Due to this reason most of the whale curators gave away there upvotes between 5 mins to 6 days and 12 hours. So that they may get good curation rewards and to increase the effieciency of their curation rewards.
Let me explain this with an example:
You can see in this screenshot that the total reward is distributed among me and the curators.
Total Reward=9.79SBD
Author Reward(me)=4.90 SBD
Curators Reward= 4.89 SBD
So this example cleared the distribution of the reward among the curators and the creators.
(2)How do I check how much reward of a post has returned to the reward pool in Steem Blockchain?
If a curator votes between the Reverse Auction period then the reward will be returned to the reward pool in Steem Blockchain and the curator will get no reward of that curation. The reward of this upvote or downvote will goes to the reward pool of Steemit. But the reward of the upvotes or downvotes from 5 mins to 6 days and 12 hours of the post is devided among the creators and the curators.The amount of the out time upvotes is retured back to the Steemit Blockchain. Let we will discuss and example on this statement.
Here you can see in this picture that some of the amount is returned back due to the out of time vote. About 1.95% of the curation reward of the post is retured back which actually includes about 0.001 $ which is not a bigger amount but there is just an example. You can also check the returned reward of the post on the steem world website. Simply you have to open the reward summary of the post and there you will be able to see the returned reward accordingly.
(3) Under what circumstances a curator can earn more than 100% upvote value as curation rewards?
The conditions under which a curator can get 100% or more votes are as follow:
(1) To get more than 100% reward of the post it is compulsory to vote the post within its age of about 5 mins to 6 days and 12 hours . Otherwise, one may lose his reward.
(2) If the payout reward is less than before his vote. Then if he will be the first voter then more the post got curated by other curators more will be the %age of the reward of the first curator.
Formula for the calculation of the curator reward:
P(curator)= (1/2) √Pt (√P1-√P0) Δt
Here P(curator)= Reward of curator)
Pt= Total payout of the post
P1=Payout of the post after the vote
P0= Payout of the post before vote.
Note:Δt will be t/5 in case of time < 5mins
and Δt will be 1 in case of time > 5 mins
Example:
Let's clear this concept with an example.
Suppose the payout of a post is 0$ before the vote of a curator. When the curator votes it to 1$ and after 7 days the payout becomes 4$ then the curator will get 100% curation reward means that 1$ same that as he curated.
(4) Pick any random post you have voted in Steem Blockchain and indicate the time and position of your voting, what is the projected curation reward?
So for answering this question I have selected a vote made my me .
This is the reward summary of a post voted by me. My curator reward for this post can be measured by the formula as follow.
P(me)= (1/2) √Pt (√P1-√P0) Δt
By putting values
P(me)= (1/2) √20.21$ (√1$-√0$) = 2.24 $
**Result:The total curation reward I will got will be 2.24$ which will be about 109% of the curated amount. **
In this picture you can see that the @canadian-coconut has voted the post $5.08 .
The curation reward of him can be measured as:
P(t)= (1/2) √Pt (√P1-√P0) Δt
By putting values:
P(t)= (1/2) √45.04$ (√5.04-√0) (1)= 7.5$
Result: It is calculated that the curation reward of the curator is equals to the 7.5$ which is about 147% of the reward which is curated by him.
(5)What is the role of curation in better content discovery in Steem Blockchain?
The curation to a post plays a very important role in the discovery of the quality content. Finding out, exploring and organizing all curated contents give rise to the Content Discovery. The more the effective will be the post the more will the development of the account as well as the community.
The better and the quality content is curated well and comes to the trending list of the Steemit Blockchain. The number of curators also effect the effeciency of the post as well as the community.
