Introduction

Cryptocurrencies have made a name for itself all around the world. Today there are thousands or cryptocurrencies rising into power with bitcoin at the top but the question most people fail to ask is how did the crypto world come into play, what started it all. Well my friends it started with as you would presume “BITCOIN”. This coin can be traced as far back as 2007 with its genuis founder SATOSHI NAKAMATO. A name nobody thought would actually make a dent in history.

WHO IS SATOSHI NAKAMATO

Satoshi nakamoto is the author and inventor of the BITCOIN, the bitcoin white paper and additional the first blockchain database. Impressive which is what you may think but here is the thing, for some reason no body has taken credit for this invention and all we know is that the inventor is satoshi nakamato but nobody has seen this person or persons.

Satoshi nakamoto had been active in bitcoin development till 2010 when he suddenly dissapeared. There are wide speculations that the name may just be a symbol hence satoshi nakamoto could be a group of people , a woman , a man, hell the owner might not be Japanese which most people would presume. Apparently the codings resemble one from someone who must have been well conversant with english.

We do not know who it is, all we know is that there is a genius out there who changed the centralized financial system for the better and refused to take credit for it. We do not know the reason for the anonymity but over the years a few people may have claimed to be satoshi which is what ill be showing you now.

Nick sazbo is a computer scientist, legal scholar and a decentralized currency enthusiast who had published a paper on bit gold. In the year 2013 he was discovered by a blogger named Skye grey who linked nick sazbo to the bitcoin whitepaper using stylometric analysis.

To top up the claim, nicksazbo indirectly claimed to be in contact with other people of suspicion who may not or may have been satoshi and satoshi himself. In 2011 on an article he talked about the Bitcoin creator and said: “My self, Wei Dai and Finney were the only people i know that liked this idea”

Dominic frisby a financial author believed that nick might’ve been satoshi but the circumstancial evidences werent strong enough to back his fact. Although Nick emailed him to deny the claims by saying “ Thanks for letting me know. I'm afraid you got it wrong doxing me as Satoshi, but I'm used to it."

Dorian prentice satoshi nakamato was identified by Leah McGrath Goodman a journalist for news week magazine. He is the first picture you find on google relating to satoshi when searched. Dorian is a Japanese American who resided in Carlifonia and has the same name as the annonymous bitcoin founder.

Goodman pointed out a number of facts that adds up to him being the true inventor of bitcoin. He originally worked for the government as a system engineer for some classified defense projects and also a computer engineer for technology and financial companies.

He turned liberitarian after he was laid off. When Goodman interviewed his daughter she said he encouraged her to start her own business and not under the government’s thumb
The biggest evidence to add it all up was during his interview where he mistakenly confirmed his identity as the bitcoin founder by stating

"I am no longer involved in that and I cannot discuss it. It's been turned over to other people. They are in charge of it now. I no longer have any connection."

This statement lead to a rise in media interest and lots of reporters started camping outside his house just to get a word from him. He was even chased in his car while driving to an interview. A while later he came back and denied even knowing what the currency is, stating that he thought the news writer was referring to some military contracts he had made in the past.

Personally and deep down I believe he’s most likely the founder especially since he lived in the same city too as hal finney, shares the same name, lived in America with fluency in english, a computer engineer and his mistaken reveal.

Wei dai is one of the forerunners of crypto currency’s. He was suspected to have been satoshi but there have been no proof to support that theory. Unlike satoshi though his identity is more exposed although he had managed to make sure his face remained hidden so most people don’t really know what he actually looks like. There are some few photos on what he looks like an hence the one above. I believe he should be older now since his project was in the 90s .

Wei created the “crypto++” cryptographic library and the b- money crypto currency which unfortunately didnt hit off exactly as planned although its frame work contributed towards the invention of bitcoin.

Wei dai is a chinese computer scientist and a cypherphunk. He proposed b-money in 1998 as a digital cash on an annonymous distributed ledger. Like i said earlier it hadn’t worked out as planned and couldnt hit off. Satoshi refrenced dais work in his bitcoin white paper and acknowledged him.
Infact they even kept in contact through emails. With his contribution, crypto currency was made possible . Hence wei dai played an integral and important role towards the introduction of bitcoin and cryptocurrency as a whole.

Most people who want to buy bitcoin or newbies may presume you have to purchase 1 bitcoin to start . Some may think the value is small but the value of 1bitcoin is high and hence not everyone can afford it. At some point it was smaller but bitcoin has grown and hence bitcoin as well as other cryptocurrencies have smaller units but the smallest unit of bitcoin is what is known as satoshis . Usually you notice those 0.0000001 stuffs when you buy bitcoin lesser than the value of 1bitcoin . Hence BTC is divisble.

This has made it easier for small scale investors to participate in the crypro verse. These units are measured with the smallest unit of BTC known as satoshis

Satoshi is equivalent to one hundred millionth of a bitcoin. So one hundred million Satoshis make a bitcoin.

Gwei is another unit on eth although it isnt the smallest but it’s mostly used. I will be calculating the current value of a gwei to 3 significant figures.
At the time of making this post, the value of ether is $2,643.35.

Smallest unit of steem

Apparently as a rising currency in the crypto world steem doesn’t necessarily have a smallest unit although it has a limited amount at which you can transfer which is 0.001. Ill be making a transfer now to show you how it works. This transfer is being made to a friend of mine @whitestallion

First you go to your steemwallet and click on transfer in the steem option

Next you input the username and the amount you want to transfer

As you can see, only three digits can be permitted and nothing less. So it can be said steem only permits a maximum of three decimal places on the block chain.

IN CONCLUSION

We do not know what the identity of Satoshi as it remains hidden but if we are to guess why he or they may have wanted it so then it might be for security reasons or to avoid the government’s intervention as most governments haven't been in support of the decentralized program or still to avoid media publicity. Over all these speculations which may or may not be true, regardless the name satoshi nakamato lives on as a symbol that has basically changed the world.
