What is the Taproot Bitcoin update?

What is Taproot? It's not a carrot or a turnip, but a Bitcoin update that promises to keep some transaction details buried deep in the metaphorical soil. Taproot is on track to be the biggest Bitcoin upgrade since 2017, which led to a hard fork of the network—in which one blockchain splits into two separate ones.

Bitcoin initially had the wrong supply and poor security. With the introduction of Taproot as a form of security enhancement and the addition of Shnorr signatures, not only were policies stripped naked but the speed and volume of transactions changed so much that the rate of malicious attacks on bitcoin transactions was greatly reduced.
